I’m Samuel James a father, coffee fiend and an analogue photographer based in Naarm/Melbourne.

I started leaning into photographing exclusively with film when my daughter was born. In her early days I was shooting hundreds of photos a day on my digital camera and taking a couple of photos on film. Every-time the film photo was always the photo came out as the favourite. Analogue photography respects that time and makes you chase that moment.

When shooting my goal is to document with authenticity. Shooting exclusively on film leads me to the most authentic photo. Whether it’s a portrait shoot with one person or shooting a dynamic space, I’m there to document the energy that’s present.
